When I used WinXP, I installed Adobe Ps Printer Driver and with the wizard I choosed a route and a ppd file to load a printer. Now I have WinXP 64 because of the 8GB ram. When the wizard runs and I choose the ppd, it reports a 1797 error loading printer driver and a 1801 error opening the printer.
Pleaseeee!!!! I need help to find a solution or an alternative.

There really is no such beast as the “Adobe PS Printer Driver” for anything beyond Windows'9x and Windows NT 4. All newer versions of Windows use the PSCRIPT5.DLL driver from Microsoft that was jointly developed by Adobe and Microsoft, for which support is provided solely by Microsoft!

Adobe did provide a printer driver installer that does work under 32-bit versions of Windows only up to and including Windows XP (does not work with any version of Vista), creating and configuring new PostScript printer driver instances based on the PSCRIPT5.DLL driver from Microsoft.

You should consider the “Adobe Universal PostScript Printer Driver Installer 1.0.5” as legacy support for old Windows versions only. Current support for PostScript driver installation under Windows is provided by Microsoft with the Printer Control Panel's “Add Printer” wizard.
